Au Pair :: GTCE
  • You should be between 18 and 25 years of age
  • You should possess conversational level of English
  • Your marital status should be single or you should not have people depending on you
  • You should have some experience in childcare
  • You should be a communicative person, who adapts easily to the social environment and culture
  • You should have a High School Diploma

Au Pair :: GTCE

  • Completed application
  • 4 passport photos (smiling)
  • Photos of you and of children you have looked after
  • A letter to the family representing your motivation, family, experience with children, education, future plans, hobbies and interests
  • A certificate of health
  • 2 recommendations (at least one of them should be written by a family where you have helped in bringing up the children)
  • 1 recommendation written by your teacher or a lecturer, or by a former employer
  • Copy of a passport
  • Declaration of no dependents
  • Birth Certificate

Au Pair :: GTCE

  • Housing and food

  • 300 EUR pocket money per month
  • 50 EUR bonus per month to use for language course or travel expeses to Holland
  • Two days off per week

STEPS

Initial Application

  1. You should fill in an application at our offices and pay 50 BGN – non-refundable administrative fee.
  2. You have to sign a contract with GTCE.

Program documents

Within two weeks after your application you need to submit the required documents.

Sending the documents to the partner agency

When you submit your documents at GTCE:

  1. We will check and translate them.
  2. You should pay 250 BGN, program fee.
  3. The documents will be sent to an agency in Holland that will submit them to different families for approval. As soon as a family likes your documents, one of the parents will make a phone interview with you. During this interview you may ask questions regarding the children, schools, way of life, etc.

Host Family

In case you have liked each other:

  1. The family will send you an official confirmation, proving that they have approved you.

Permit

The family applies for an au pair permit. The issue of that document usually takes up to 12 weeks.

Visa

When the permit is issued, it is sent to the Embassy of Holland directly.
With the following documents*, you need to go to the Embassy of Holland to apply for a visa:

  1. Passport and a copy.
  2. 4 passport photos.
  3. Copy of a legalized document for a family status and the original document from the Town Hall.
  4. Declaration of no dependents.

*You should call the embassy before you go to apply for a visa in case there are additional documents they might require.
The visa is usually issued within 2 business days.

Travel details

Once the visa is issued, we will arrange your travel to Holland and inform the Partner Agency when and where you will arrive. The agency will make arrangements with the family to meet you.

Arrival

Once you arrive in Holland, the family will have to register you with the Authorities. For that purpose you will need a legalized Birth Certificate.
